CCTV in Slaughterhouses and Codes of Practice Consultations

Michael Gove today announced plans to make CCTV mandatory in all slaughterhouses in England. Under the proposals, Official Veterinarians and officials from the Food Standards Agency (FSA) will be given unrestricted access to footage. The announcement has been welcomed by the British Veterinary Association (BVA), the FSA, and animal protection charities.
