Petition for CCTV in slaughterhouses

21 March 2014

A new petition is calling for CCTV to be installed in all slaughterhouses, along with unannounced checks to ensure that it is in place, and for the footage to be made available to independent monitors.

The petition is asking for these changes to protect animals from suffering avoidable brutality, such as being slaughtered without being stunned, and also to protect workers who may be put at risk through poor working conditions and failure of the abattoirs to follow health and safety regulations.

The petition is addresses to the EU Commission, Parliament, and Intergroup for Animals. Please take a moment to add your name to the petition, and then ask your family, friends and colleagues to do the same.
