Good news for badgers

21 March 2014 We are pleased to be able to bring you the following press statement from the RSPCA: We are delighted the MPs have listened to the advice of the experts and voted overwhelmingly to abandon the badger cull. The Secretary of State Owen Paterson now has to listen to the voice of Parliament and  discard any plans to roll the cull out further. Petition for CCTV in slaughterhouses

21 March 2014 A new petition is calling for CCTV to be installed in all slaughterhouses, along with unannounced checks to ensure that it is in place, and for the footage to be made available to independent monitors. The petition is asking for these changes to protect animals from suffering avoidable brutality, such as being slaughtered without being stunned, and also to protect workers who may be put at risk through poor working conditions and failure of the abattoirs to […]
